Mission
To assist appointees with community, education, and other forms of support, and to provide transition, personnel, governing, and other resources to the next Republican president, thereby optimizing his or her tenure and the success of the administration.
ARPA is dedicated to maintaining the bonds we’ve forged as appointees and leveraging our experiences to bolster the abilities of appointees to achieve public policy goals.
We seek to do this by…
-
Providing opportunities
for appointees to gather through regular events that strengthen our relationships with one another and advance our professional activities and service efforts.
-
Forging links
among appointees from all Republican administrations. We’re building America’s largest community of appointees, and the more connections we have, the more united and better positioned we will be when it comes to promoting our shared values.
-
Understanding the past
No administration is perfect and capturing lessons learned from each will improve the next. One of our first efforts is a comprehensive report examining presidential personnel policy during President Trump’s administration to identify how we can set up for future success.
-
Ensuring future administrations
have a loyal and competent cadre of experienced individuals ready to serve at three key points in time: 1) when a nominee is decided and transition planning begins; 2) the moment an election is determined and a presidential transition formally launches; and 3) inauguration day and the start of a new administration.
-
Developing trainings
and informative guides to assist appointees. No appointee should be left to sink or swim without the support of colleagues, especially those new to Washington, D.C. or federal service. Our intent is to provide resources for appointees at all levels to optimize their tenure and ability to advance public policy goals.
-
Forming partnerships
with organizations involved in presidential transitions and enhancing the federal workforce.
Our Beliefs
Planning is essential.
Personnel is policy.
Appointees are political.
Loyalty matters.
Support is critical.
